Working with Carolina Aragon on her acclaimed kinetic sculpture High Tide was both a challenge and a pleasure. Installed on the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston, a moving field of circular polycarbonate lenses bearing a dichroic film which reflects light of one color as it transmits in another evoke sunlit marsh reeds.
Balance, ease of assembly, freedom of motion and durability of 1500+ rotating elements were some of the criteria for the technical realization of this work. High Tide has been featured in CODA magazine for commissioned art and recognized by the Western Massachusetts chapter of the American Institute of Architecture with a 2016 Design Award. We are pleased to have played a part in it’s success.
